note to self - seeing what god sees:
Pardon the Mess
Sermon Recap
This message reminds us that spiritual growth is often messy but necessary. Using the story of John Mark in Acts, we learn that failure is not the end of the road. God can redeem our messes and use them for His purpose when we stay on mission. Whether you're in a season of discomfort, disappointment, or starting over, the call is to press forward, reignite your passion, and embrace the journey.
Ice Breakers
- What’s the weirdest summer survival tactic you’ve ever tried?
- Have you ever started a project that turned out to be way more complicated than expected? What happened?
- If you had to live without air conditioning for a week, where would you escape to?

- Context: The Gospel is not that Jesus ignores our mess but that He entered it, carried it, and forgives us. That grace empowers us to keep growing despite our shortcomings.

Leader Tip
This week’s message is an excellent opportunity to talk about mentorship. Consider pairing people up for prayer or spiritual check-ins throughout the week. Growth often happens in community, especially when we know someone believes in us. Don’t underestimate the power of simply showing up and encouraging someone—it might be the spark they need to keep going.
